June 28, 2005 Brown Bag: Get Personality-Wise
Would you like to understand more about how your personality impacts your decisions, your business environment and how you organize your life? Licensed Professional Counselor Craig D. Lounsbrough -- of Chamber member Dr. Trathen & Associates, PC -- presented insights to help attendees learn how personality can open doors to personal and professional self-improvement.
Perhaps you already know your personality type; prior to accessing the PDF files below, however, Mr. Lounsbrough suggests you determine, or reinforce your perception of, which type you are.
The most reliable way for one to discover true personality type is through personal research. Learn about the 4 preferences and the 16 types, and categorize your own behavior. There are many books available on this subject; more efficient, however, would be taking one of the several free personality tests available over the Internet. The best of these free on-line questionnaires is the Keirsey Temperament Sorter, available at http://www.keirsey.com (click on Take the Keirsey Temperament Sorter II and follow directions). There is also a basic on-line Myers-Briggs test available at http://www.personalitypathways.com/type_inventory.html (although the full version of this test is a considerably more advanced and comprehensive personality inventory for which there is usually a fee). No matter what method you use to discover your personality type, please follow up with some personal validation. Once you identify your own type and learn about other personality types, the following PDF files should help you in your business and personal life.
