Parker Chamber Awards

 

The Parker Chamber of Commerce is proud to offer three awards each year to recognized and honor three important community members.

Nominations for this award are received in October of each year and the

award is presented at the Annual Member Gala in November.

This award is named after Jim Adkins and was created to recognize individuals who have demonstrated leadership in community projects and organizations and are involved in the betterment of the community through active civic participation.  The 2007 recipient of this award was Joe Skalisky.  Joe has lived in Parker since 1986 and is a realtor with

ReMax Alliance.  Joe has been involved in the Parker Chamber of Commerce, Douglas/Elbert Realtor Association, Cherry Valley Rotary Club, Parker Historical Society, and Parker Hawks Sports.  Many of you

will recognize him from his association with the Boy Scouts of America, the Cub Scouts, Parker Sunrise Lions Club, Parker parades and the 9 Health Fair.  Joe has been married to Barbara for 23 years and is father to Michael, Melissa and Matthew.   Photo above right:  Chamber Board President Mark Dougherty presents the 2007 Adkins Award Recipient, Joe Skalisky, with his award at the 2007 Expo/Taste.

 

The Akins award recipient also serves as the Parade Marshal in the Parker Country Festival in the year following receipt of the award.

Nominations for this award are received in October of each year and the award is presented at the Annual Member Gala in November

Named after Parker resident Fred Dransfeldt, this was award recognizes a business that demonstrates a community-oriented philosophy directly benefiting the Parker Chamber of Commerce

by generously donating to, and sponsoring, Chamber activities,

events, programs, committees, and/or Cornerstone membership. 

The 2007 recipient of the Dransfeldt Business of the Year Award is Lifestyle Kitchen and Bath Center, owned by Beth and Tim Tait.   Beth and Tim have been active in the Parker Chamber for more than 11 years, sponsoring Parker Chamber Signature Events such as the Parker Country Festival and Parker Chamber Picture Show; providing volunteers for various events, and serving on the Board of directors.   Photo above right:  Parker Chamber Board President presents the 07 Dransfeldt Award recipient, Lifestyle Kitchen and Bath Center-Beth and Tim Tait, with their award at a monthly membership meeting in early 2008.

Nominations for this award are received in October of each year and

the award is presented at the Annual Member Gala in November.

Awarded to an outstanding volunteer who has shown a consistent

individual contribution through recruiting volunteers for Chamber

projects, donating time to Chamber activities, events, projects, committees, and is a positive representative of the Parker

Chamber of Commerce and the Parker business community, the O'Brien Chamber Citizen of the Year Award recognizes a Parker Chamber member for their contributions to the Parker Chamber.  The recipient of the 2007 O'Brien Chamber Citizen of the Year Award is Mark Lewis.  Mark owns Help-U-Sell Parker Real Estate with his wife, Debbie Lewis.  Mark and Debbie have be residents of Parker for more than 20 years and have been active in Parker Chamber activities including the Parker Country Festival.   Photo above right:  Parker Chamber Past President Mark Dougherty presents the 2007 O'Brien Award recipient, Mark Lewis, with his award at a monthly membership meeting early in 2008.

Recipients of these Parker Chamber awards are honored at the Annual Member Gala and recognized on the Parker Chamber Web site and a perpetual plaque, with photo, in the Parker Chamber office.
