Political Advocacy

The Parker Chamber of Commerce believes that one of the most important services we can offer to our member businesses, and indeed the community at large, is to act as an advocate in many ways, including in the area of governmental issues.  The Parker Chamber provides our members with an avenue to voice their concerns and the Chamber, in turn, can relay these concerns to elected officials in a proactive and unified voice, seeking to improve the business climate and quality of life in our community.

Local Advocacy

The Parker Chamber has open lines of communication with the Town administration including Mayor, Council and Staff.  The Town often relies on the input from community members and the Parker Chamber works with them to provide that input through various avenues including Chamber member participation during 2005 and 2006 in reviewing, evaluating and revising the Town sign codes.  We are proud that we have an outstanding repoir with the Town staff that allows us to have this important input.

Regional Advocacy

On more of a state and regional level, the Parker Chamber of Commerce was instrumental in the founding of the Douglas County Business Alliance (DCBA).  The DCBA was formed by the Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch and Parker Chambers, the Castle Rock and Parker Economic Development Councils, and the South East Business Partnership to provide a unified voice at the state level for the businesses in Douglas County.  The DCBA facilitates education and communication between you, our members, and elected officials.  Click Here to find out about the policy statements adopted by the DCBA.

To that end, the DCBA invites you to meet with our Douglas County delegation to get an update as to what is happening during the legislative session.  Each month we will be hosting a "Day at the Capitol" where you can meet the legislators, have a continental breakfast and visit the State house and Senate Chambers to view the legislative process in person.  The Days at the Capitol will be held on the following dates:
