Come meet Director George Hier, General Manager Stan Lewandowski, and Deputy General Manager Patrick Mooney (who will be taking over for Stan in May of 2011) for a discusssion of energy costs, our investment in the new coal plant, renewable energy and other issues of importance to IREA members. Our participation in Commanche III is expected to ensure stable rates for many years, but those savings could be threatened by the passage of the "American Power Act' or by the EPA's threat to ompose a similar carbon tax.
Please take this opportunity to meet with IREA managment and let us know how you feel about these issues. How much per month would you be willing to pay to reduce carbon dioxide emissions: $10, $25, or more? Or would you prefer that we do everything possible to keep rates as low as possible? Your opinion is important to us so please let us know what you think!
