The Parker Chamber of Commerce will again be awarding 3 $1,000 scholarships to seniors graduating from one of Parker's high schools. Scholarship recipients and their parents will be invited to be honored guests at the Parker Chamber's Monthly Membership Meeting and Luncheon on Thursday, May 8, 11:30 am - 1:00 pm at the Black Bear Golf Club.
What is the Parker Chamber of Commerce?
The Parker Chamber of Commerce is a business membership organization that works to support the success of our members.
The mission of the Parker Chamber of Commerce is to "support and promote the success of our members through networking, professional development, advocacy, leadership and community development."
Our vision is to be "Parker's premier business and community resource."
Goal of the Parker Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Program
The goals of the Parker Chamber's scholarship program are to:
- provide assistance to students entering their first year of continuing education after high school-college, community college, university or vocational/technical school/, and
- provide assistance to Parker students in the hopes that these students will return to Parker to build their businesses and raise their families.
Eligibility Criteria
- Student must be a graduating senior from one of Parker's high schools.
- Student must have a grade point average of at least 2.0.
Application Review Criteria - please be sure to address these points in your essay response
- Demonstrated Entrepreneurship/Business Skills - Tell us about your entrepreneurial
endeavors and how they have impacted your life and/or learning.
- Extracurricular Activities - Let us know what activities you are involved in outside of your academic studies.
- Volunteerism - Let us know how you volunteer in the community.
- Leadership - Share with us experiences when you have been in a leadership role, or
looked to as a leader within your group of peers.
- Academic Achievement - You need NOT be in the top of your class to apply for Parker Chamber scholarships. We encourage ALL students to apply for our scholarships.
Application Checklist - the following items/attachments are required for an application to be considered "complete."
- Completed scholarship application form, filled out completely and signed by the
student
- Essay
- Letter(s) of recommendation
- Validated high school transcript - certified by school
- Copy of college acceptance letter OR a list of schools to which the student has applied
