TITLE: Director of Member Engagement
WORK TYPE: Full-Time Exempt
LOCATION: Parker, Colorado
PAY RANGE: $62,000 – $65,000 per year
BONUS: Annual bonus eligible, subject to organizational budget and performance
BENEFITS: Our benefits package includes a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, health insurance, paid time off, and technology reimbursement.
SCHEDULE: In-office Monday–Thursday; remote option on Fridays. Non-traditional hours regularly required based on event schedule.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Office environment; ability to lift up to 20 lbs; personal vehicle required for local event travel. No regular overnight travel.
Summary / Objective
The Director of Membership Engagement has primary responsibility for the recruitment of new members, membership retention efforts, and connecting chamber members with appropriate and rewarding opportunities for engagement. This role also leads the planning and execution of key chamber events, manages certain affinity groups, and leverages sales skills to generate financial support for chamber activities and programs.
The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting local businesses, adept at multitasking, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Essential Functions
Membership Sales & Recruitment
- Drive new membership sales and assist in achieving annual membership income budget goals.
- Conduct inbound membership sales and close new member accounts.
- Coordinate ribbon-cutting events for new and existing members.
- Manage the Chamber's Non-Profit Council and leads groups.
Membership Retention
- Implement member retention programs including first-year email campaigns, marketing initiatives, and new member orientations.
- Ensure consistent delivery of member benefits.
- Maintain the integrity of all membership records in the database, including representative listings.
- Nurture, retain, and steward Level 1 and 2 members with special care.
- Coordinate membership appreciation activities (November).
- Conduct proactive outreach calls to members in the 1–3 year membership range in advance of renewal dates.
- Recognize members at significant membership milestones (5-year, 10-year, 20-year, etc.).
- Assist with the recruitment and management of Chamber Ambassadors.
- Attend semi-monthly Lunch Bunch gatherings for member cultivation.
- Manage renewal collections in partnership with the Membership Assistant.
- Coordinate membership terminations and handle special member requests.
Event Planning & Coordination
- Lead coordination of the annual Golf Tournament: sponsorship solicitation, participant registration, on-site fundraising, corporate relations, and event marketing.
- Lead the annual Speed Networking event and Member Appreciation Party.
- Lead coordination of the New Business Showcase at the annual Parker Days Festival.
- Support other staff in executing key Chamber events: Wine Walks, Day at the Capitol, Parker Chamber Symposium, Economic Update Breakfast, Fiesta Parker, and others.
Affinity Group Management
- Coordinate the activities and growth of affinity groups, including the Non-Profit Organizations Council.
- Serve as primary liaison to 5-6 leads groups, providing support and resources to grow member participation.
General Office Support
- Assist with public-facing responsibilities, including greeting office visitors, answering calls, and handling inbound requests.
Required Qualifications
- Extraordinary organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, exceed goals, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar) and member management and/or sales databases.
- Demonstrated event planning experience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field.
- Chamber of Commerce experience (as a member, staff member, or volunteer).
- At least three years of experience in membership or sponsorship sales.
- Experience in a non-profit and/or small business setting.
- Experience managing volunteers.
- WACE Academy participant.
